PETSc, pronounced PET-see (the S is silent), is a suite of data structures and routines for the scalable (parallel) solution of scientific applications modeled by partial differential equations. It employs the MPI standard for all message-passing communication.

To install petsc, run the following command in macOS terminal (Applications->Utilities->Terminal)
sudo port install petsc
To see what files were installed by petsc, run:
port contents petsc
To later upgrade petsc, run:
sudo port selfupdate && sudo port upgrade petsc
Reporting an issue on MacPorts Trac
The MacPorts Project uses a system called Trac to file tickets to report bugs and enhancement requests.
Though anyone may search Trac for tickets, you must have a GitHub account in order to login to Trac to create tickets.
