Ragel compiles executable finite state machines from regular languages. Ragel targets C, C++ and ASM. Ragel state machines can not only recognize byte sequences as regular expression machines do, but can also execute code at arbitrary points in the recognition of a regular language.

To install ragel-devel, run the following command in macOS terminal (Applications->Utilities->Terminal)
sudo port install ragel-devel
To see what files were installed by ragel-devel, run:
port contents ragel-devel
To later upgrade ragel-devel, run:
sudo port selfupdate && sudo port upgrade ragel-devel
Reporting an issue on MacPorts Trac
The MacPorts Project uses a system called Trac to file tickets to report bugs and enhancement requests.
Though anyone may search Trac for tickets, you must have a GitHub account in order to login to Trac to create tickets.
